Yesterday, my boyfriend and I went to Lake Padden, which entirely froze over this past week. There were children throwing large rocks at the ice (where were their parents?!), adults playing hockey, and dogs skidding right past their targeted stick. It was chaotic and beautiful. Check it out if you have the chance! Cheers, babes.

I am the queen of one-pan meals because I hate cooking and I hate cleaning. Recently, my laziness has blended with “hangry”-ness and I’ve resorted to the epitome of crappy college food…Top Ramen. This is a great way to use up the last of your veggies before the next grocery trip. Directions: Boil water in a […]

I’m currently streaming podcasts from my iPhone while getting my life in order [finances, editing work, and cleaning] after an utterly irresponsible hiatus from adulthood. I’ve spent the last month and a half gallivanting across Europe and exaggerating the subsequent jet lag upon my return; I’m officially ready to get back to my productive self. With […]

I want to wish a very happy Father’s Day to all the dads and father-figures out there. I owe a huge thank-you to my own Dad for being a constant source of advice, homework help, public embarrassment, and laughter–I love you dearly. If you were to ask any of the dozens of parents for whom I’ve nannied over the years, they would all tell you that I’m generally good at keeping things alive [namely, their children]. I’m also fairly good at following instructions and learning from mistakes so it’s truly a mystery to me how in the […]

School has always been something that just *clicked* with me; I enjoyed it and I put pressure on myself to succeed [type-A personality, some would say]. By contrast, my younger sister is wired for an entirely different circuit; one with loops and junctions and dead ends. Neither is a better nor worse way of viewing the […]
